History of the Barangay
In the midst of the Spanish Regine, this place was full of trees, and tall grasses with few inhabitants living. It is somehow home to beautiful Filipina labanderas because of its clean and fresh water running in its riverside location.
The existence of the Philippine Racing Club (PRC) or also known as Sta. Ana Turf Club in 1937 established popularity and a wide range of opportunities for the Barangay. It is the first place to hold and introduced a thoroughbred style of horse racing and was also organized for the purpose of using horse breeds of "superior quality" for horseracing with its rival Manila Jockey Club. During the Japanese occupation of the Philippines during World War II, racetrack activities were halted. This was later resumed in 1946 after the war until the year 2009.
As years passed by, Barangay Carmona continued to develop after their loss of the Philippine Racing Club (PRC) in 2009. The club then entered into a joint venture agreement with Ayala Land and its subsidiary. Alveo Land, in 2011 for the development of the property. The development of the area consists of shopping malls, lanes, condominiums, events grounds etc.
